hand me downs

It has been a week of gifts!

'new' to the house clothes for every kid, a;; from two friends. add that to the bag last week and little JC is loving the fun.

It doesn't matter to her that another girl wore the items, what matters is the fun newness of them. (new meaning not ever worn by JC)

I have to admit I get a kick out of going through bags of hand me downs too!

    My children were unaware of stores like Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle, and Justice until recently. The only place they shopped was Once Upon a Child. I like hand-me-downs as well!

    Oooh--a whole bag! What fun!

    My class started talking about Goodwill and thrift stores last night during their break. These are all working adults, mostly women--and I was pleased to hear all the tips and all the delight they got out of resale and thrift shops.

    My "used" bargain of the week was at an estate sale. The bathroom was filled,and I mean filled, with the bags you get with the Clinique bonus offers. They were selling them for a dime apiece. I came home with a whole bag for a buck. Great enclosures for my girlfriends' gifts.

    When I was a kid, I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE getting hand-me-down's from other families ... Because otherwise all I got was my sister's ... If they came from outside the family, somehow they felt much more new and stylish.

    That is great. I love going thru bags of stuff like that too. My little ones all wear hand me downs either free or from ebay.
