DC planning

I checked out some hotel rates and it seems 150 is a reasonable guestemate my husbands wants to see about shortening the trip. I think that is doable, no reason we have to do it all in one trip. I figure the kids will want to go back.

But starting guess is 150 * 4 nights = $600

Then there is food, I am not sure how to go about researching the cost of food, eating out or grocery shopping?

Or metro costs? Gas to get there and back?

    Check out priceline.com. I've gotten some really good hotel deals from them, some as low as $35 a night at a three star hotel. Not in DC, of course, but it's worth a look! Even $70 a night would be better than $150.
