I can't believe he ate the whole thing!

May 9th, 2006 at 03:13 pm

UE just finished a whole banana, a normal sized banana..well there was one small bit left, not even a whole bite for me.

I feed my kids till they are full, and man does that take a lot of food!

Last apointment GMC actually lost a bit of weight (2lb), there is no way I can be worried about it though, he eats as much as I do! It was prolly a scale differernce. Or because last time he was in he was sick, not moving as much, still eating.

JC is rather a 'nromal' eater..we tend to think of it as small, but it is actually more than the average..(she eats slightly less than a kids meal, GMC eats slightly more) Apparently UE is folowing in his big brothers footsteps, meaning I can envision the grocery bill in 13 years...It will be higher than my mortgage!!!

I remember when I had a houseful of teen boys........who all seemed to be eating whenever they were awake. My mom shared grandmas tip for feeding her big houseful of kids- 9 total. She would tell anyone that was 'starving' before dinner to make a big stack of toast. With her homemade bread & jam always available, she figured they would take the edge off so they could eat like normal people when they sat down for dinner.
It took me a bit to turn my thinking around from 'don't eat that, it will spoil your dinner' to...............please have a big stack of toast!!!

Wow! Think about all the carbs in that toast!
I have three girls and my teenager eats more than my husband and I. It is amazing how different each one of them are in body type and metabolism!

My MIL is still on 'don't eat that you'll ruin your dinner' She never seems to understand how much and how often my kids eat.

Trouble is I can't figure out how to get JC NOT to eat (and ruin her dinner), while GMC is eating! (cause he needs it)

i just have to make sure it is all healthy!

Since my kids were little, I've always kept a container of cut up vegetables in the fridge. They are allowed to snack on it anytime they want. If they aren't hungry for dinner, at least they filled up on something healthy.

Ds aged 12 also likes to snack on a plain piece of whole wheat bread...go to it!

My son is on a toast jag right now. If I let him, it would be all he would eat. I make him eat one serving of protien a day and 1/2 can of green beans (only veggie he really likes) split between two meals. He won't touch fruit at all. Oh, he is eating yogurt and milk in his lunch from home, but only because there is no access to toast at school!
