sunday spending

July 31st, 2005 at 11:59 am

ugh yeah we have to spend money today, the suit aforementioned for DS, shoes for DH and DD, and a bday present for FIL. I am debating on some clear contact paper, we use it alot for covering DSs school stuff, and he is getting flashcards for adding, so I might want to make them sturdy, after all DD will be in first grade eventually Smile. Plus we need umm I forget, oh a bday present for nephew, his was last month but he was in pgh so we didn't get to see him.

On a plus note I found gifts for moms kid, and the other nephew and new niece from my inventory of mostly free prizes, so I don't have to go buy them.

midwife, Hardees, and BJs

July 29th, 2005 at 01:21 pm

Hardees was a planned splurge, a treat for suffering thru the GD test.

BJs was a bit expensive but we stuck to our list, and the midwife is going to be billed at the end, shouldn't run to much loot cause the visits are covered. The test will cost, but I couldn't squirl out of it. I tried, I got out of other tests so I will let them have this one I guess.

July 27th, 2005 at 11:37 am

Its Wednesday, what else would I be complaining about?

We have a short list as usual, veggies (frzn) cereal (cheapo brand) straws (have to have for the take out of the house straw cups, save on packing drinks, but need the straws for kid in the car) Strawberries (on sale Smile.) that is it, os hopefully cheap. (or affordable anyway)

Sunburn :( and vacation plans

July 25th, 2005 at 12:18 pm

well everyone has a light burn on the face and DH on the shoulders, and we were wearing sunscreen! I often forget to reapply in time, and with a pasty white family that spells disaster (or P I N K anyway).

Sunscreen unfortunatly costs ALOT! and we do like the pool so we ar out quite a bit, I sometimes consider figuring out how much for the summer, but I am afraid of the total!

Vacation to see my new niece is planned for first week in August, low cost, one day trip to GA, looooong drive, but tha tis the major amount of cost there, then dinner on the way back, and packed food for the trip, plus a new baby gift. And I get to take pictures Smile.

Then we are going to pgh the next weekend, that will cost, alot, mainly cause we no longer have free bedspace in pogh, ok we could, but I do not want to start WWIII with my MIL, so we will get a cabin. that and the renfest tickests and gas money should kill our next big CC payment Frown, but we will get to see family for the last time this year.

SA withdrawl!

July 24th, 2005 at 11:49 am

ACK! I couldn't get on for all of yesterday! End of the world!

I was so happy it worked this morning Smile.

This is Sunday and we are being lazy at home, prolly a trip to the pool, but thats it Smile.

July 22nd, 2005 at 12:35 pm

so close and yet so far, but on a plus note we got ground beef, the good stuff, for 139 a lb, should keep us quite some time, and dishwasher stuff, so I can use it again, will keep us awhile and DH is of the opinion we would eventually have to get it so why not this week, hmm cause the Car insurance is due and so is the CC bill? oh well it will get paid, just not as high on the CC as I wanted.

over a bit

July 21st, 2005 at 11:42 am

k so my hopes were dashed we went over budget again Frown, but only by a couple bucks. and we have food Smile

BJS tonight is the kicker, we need milk, of course, cheese, of course, and hmm now it seems that is it, but I doubt DH will make it out of there with just that!

July 20th, 2005 at 12:07 pm

Today is the day, DH has a list and loot, and hopefully will be under budget, not to hard with the grocery store, one little splurge is still only a couple bucks, it is BJS that causes us troubles Smile

profitable hobbys

July 19th, 2005 at 11:36 am

Remind me to make sure that DS and DD (and future BBY3) get hobbies that can be profitable, instead of pure money stealers, not that there is anything wrong with a hobby, just that DH and I were talking about warhammer and a newer cheaper game of the same type, you honestly cannot upgrade your people without spending REAL money! that is rediculous to me! I play fantasy role playing games because with a toss of the dioce I can get rich, not to spend my real money!

why do we avoid money till it bites us?

July 18th, 2005 at 11:36 am

I just think it is odd something so integral to our american society is so ignored. I don't want to do that anymore, but I still find my self trying to 'get it out of the way' so I can move on, not that I want to dwell on it, to depressing! But I do think ignoring it is the opposite extream.

GN last night

July 17th, 2005 at 11:20 am

Wll we had a lot of fun, and aside from grilled cheese for company (I know what a hostess!) we didn't spend anything. I love free entertainment (though tecnically the extra electricity counts, still cheap)

Unfortunatly the kids are tired,a nd so are we! thats why we only do it once a month, we need the rest!

Tonights the night

July 16th, 2005 at 11:45 am

well afternoon, but I have the west side story song in my head.

DS has to pick a price and we have to figure out what to put the cookies on, and well DH thinks we wont make a dime, but thats what he thought of the Google ads too.

July 15th, 2005 at 11:58 am

and no it wasn't fun, DH spent a fortune at BJs, mostly nuts and stuff for trail mix, we eat a lot of it, a healthy snack and all that, but man oh man, that plus the membership renewal (we make the renewal back on milk alone) is painful!

July 14th, 2005 at 11:25 am

Dh made it in under 30, with everything on the list, and then some, very cool, but the trail mix supplies we are getting tonight from BJs will more than cover the other 45 in the budget Frown. (well that and milk and cheese! I have to ask him to get cheese, this family can't go another week without cheese!)

hot car

July 13th, 2005 at 12:19 pm

k so the car is hotter in the AM when DH leaves for work now that it is in the garage? that can't be good, maybe we should not use the garage till winter, but then why did I clean it out! and is better to not get rained on? it is certainly better for the kittens can't run over a cat hiding if the cat can't hide, but all the kittens are gone and I have high hopes fire isn't getting any new ones till next spring.

we did it, it was in the garage overnight :)

July 12th, 2005 at 11:45 am

Now I just have to convince DH to keep it up, today the kids were up when he left so I was and shut the door for him, but I need to find stuff showing that it is better to have the car there even in the summer to keep it up. It has to be a bit of a pain to open the door and all that all the time, so it needs to be worth it.

garage in use!

July 11th, 2005 at 11:47 am

We can fit the car in the garage!!!!!!!!!

Now all I have to do is convince DH to put it there, I think for Christmas I will mention to his parents that we are looking into a garage door opener, between what they normally spend on him and the cash he gets it should be enough and then he will be more likely to use the garage, I also think I will try to know when he pulls in the driveway and run out and open the garage door for him.

We also went to the pool again, DS and DD are awesome in the pool now, fear is mostly gone from DS and he loves challenging what he can do, which leaves us a little worried, since he isn't strong enough to tread water all that well or long, but I don't want to turn his love of meeting challenges back into panic, so we stay as close as possible and pray nothing bad happens.

Dinner was 'giant chicken nuggets' which is breaded chicken patties, we microwaved them at home wrapped them in foiil and a towel and ate them at the pool, worked out pretty well and is expanding my list of what to eat at the pool.

Kids loot

July 9th, 2005 at 11:59 am

My children are generally richer than I am, and now is no exception, GMA sent down 20 for each when BIL came home from his July 4th visit. They have everything they need, and honestly most of what they want, niether one of them is asking for anything.

So they treated to frenchfrys last night when we went iceskating, adn are prolly going to put the remaining 18 each in their ING accounts.

BJs again

July 8th, 2005 at 10:51 am

Not so under budget there, and we still forgot stuff, DH offered to stop on the way home from work this week, but I told him it is cheaper if we do without, we have stuff to eat in the house, we just have to be mroe inventive when we forget stuff.

cheaper cereal

July 7th, 2005 at 10:54 am

I gave DH cash for groceries yesterday and he made it in under budget YIPEEE! He got some cheap cereal. I hate cheap regular cheereos, and cheap honey nut is too sweet, so he got one of each and I can mix them, so far tastes ok.

expensive news, saving news

July 6th, 2005 at 11:28 am

On the expense side, we turned the air on, DD couldn't sleep thru the firecrackers, and well I am now used to the nice cool but more importantly dryer air, at 80. Might not seem like much but try walking around in a hot humid 80- by lunch house for a month. 80 is nice!

On the saving side, air on means I can dry clothes again, clothes don'tdry in the house when it is so muggy, they take 3 days and smell funny Frown, so now I can dry them. Coure the electric bill will still be going up due to air, but a small amount cancels out.

July 5th, 2005 at 11:28 am

pregnant people are dangerous around computers!

coat of stuff

July 4th, 2005 at 11:01 am

On the airplane rocker thingie. One more session of 'paint' and it will be gone Smile so happy about that.

DS yesterday told DH about having the car in the garage, DH asked why he wants the car in the garage, DS said 'cause mommy wants it there' Smile

Wanting shelves is making me cranky :(

July 3rd, 2005 at 10:35 am

So I either have to get them, or forget them, but having them on my mind all the time is a pain in the arse. And boy do I feel like an idiot for having this problem over 40$ worth of shelving!
