So I didn't say it, do I get a medal?

We were sitting in the car for some reason discussing the frequent 'how do I get my spouse on board' threads.

And he mentions 'well like if your spouse is still buying a pop every day for a buck you could just mention how you drink water, and ask if they think an insulated cup or something would help them drink water more'

ummm, I did that....

But I didn't remind him, I fiugured he certainly remembered and didn't need to be reminded of the unfrugal habits I helped him break.....

so do I get a medal?

    Oh, I say you should get a medal! It's not just hard not to nag someone (for me, anyway) but it's hard to not remind them later if you were right or something similar. Way to go. Smile

    Well, maybe you can't get him to not drink soda, but you could remind him of something like buying an insulated mug at a convenience store and refilling it instead of a styrofoam cup. It's environmentally friendly and more often than not, it's cheaper because a lot of convenience stores will give you a little discount. Also, he could check into whether a particular place he likes to get java or soda has any kind of card where you buy 10 cups of coffee/soda, etc. and get 1 free. It's not a lot of savings, but it is something.

    err guess it wasn't clear in the post, he is off the pop habit, still drinks more than I do, but not one a day.

    This was NOT an overnight change, it started when we first met and would finish a case of pop between us in two days, from there it went down over 7 years to practically no pop for me, and one or two a week for him.
