Buying for company....

Now in general I always thought of buying 'the good stuff' for company...but here I have a couple house guests coming for a weekend, and I have a list including things like canned vegetables! Canned, the cheap stuff we suffer thru when money is low (OK fine, money has never been that low here...) is what I am buying my guests!

Not because I am mean, but because thats what they like....so we buy for them, and learn a lesson in "one mans poison..."

    Interesting. Reminds me of my sister's father in law who lived in an orphanage through the Depression. Consequently, he grew accustomed to canned milk and that was normally the only milk he would use till the day he died.

    We once made my Dad's mothers cookie recipe with "good" ingredients, real butter, whole milk, etc. He said they were "OK" but not as good as his Mom's!
    To each their own. I know what you mean about canned vegies, it is all I can do to serve them.
