They grew!

October 23rd, 2007 at 02:58 pm

For cub scouts my husband and son planted some seeds in a plastic ziplock bag..with dirt of course, ad a bit of water.

At first we thought it was hopeless, especially since my 2 year old shook up one of the bags, but as of now we have 2 inch shoots coming up. Skinny little shoots, but alive none the less.

The only question I have is...what do we do with them?

My 7 y.o. son and I were going to do that exact thing tonight for Cub Scouts! What type of seeds did you plant. We are doing pumpkin.

Some snap dragon and some...parsley..kids picked..

Pumpkin sounds perfect for the season Smile

Plant them, of course! Smile Parsley works great for me in a pot, that way I can keep it up close to the kitchen door, and it won't freeze over winter.
Snapdragons wouldn't work here over winter.....not sure about where you are located. It's worth a try I'd think.

Of course then there is the question of what do you do with parsley when it is grown? Bitter herbs and all that I guess. The snap dragons could be grown inside. They are my oldest sons favorite flower.

You are all obviously forgetting my brown thumb!

But I do think we will try to transplant them, if I can find a pot...gardening is not my strong suit!
