What kind of girl am I?

August 5th, 2008 at 05:49 pm

Well after reading SA blogs newest article about the

Text is Champagne girl and Link is http://digg.com/people/How_I_Failed_the_Champagne_Girl_Dating_Test/who
Champagne girl, I wondered just what one was....

So I googled, found the article in question a million times and a book..but no definition. Either pop culture all knows it and doesn't need to tell me, or I am just no good at googling.

So I tried "what kind of girl" and found several quizes, of course being in the mood to waste time (I have work I am avoiding of course) I took them.

two different quizzes with very different questions and surprise, very different answers, either pixie..whatever that is, or new age girl, totally off. I am a closet tree hugger, but I don't do yoga.

Of course there is still that work to avoid so I discovered I am a boring purple flower..pretty but boring. (too many contended answers, no real angst here, or bubbly joy either.)

So at the end of 10 minutes of goofing off I am still no closer to discovering just what a champagne girl is. Maybe a girl who orders food and doesn't eat it.

In which case I am whatever you call the opposite!

Champagne girls are rich women. I think they expect upper middle class lifestyle. The nails, hair, designer clothes are all "necessities" not "wants'.

Maybe Champagne girls are women who have not found this blog site.

I just read the article. Utterly fascinating!

I have to agree that that wasn't technically a Champaign Girl. She had no class or social grace. More like Sour Grapes Girl.

In the interest of fairness, I suppose I can imagine women who would be Champaign Girls somewhat out of necessity. If they are professional models, for example, their physical beauty would be a required asset for said profession.

But that's still stretching it since this doesn't have as much to do with physical beauty as much as childish mind games and meeting prospective mates solely on the aspect of money.

We're all here in part due to the interest of money, but there are times when a focus on money is shallow and undeserving. In my book, this is one of those examples.

i thought a champagne girl (i haven't read the article yet though - so bear with me) was a girl who expected the guy to pay for her, and who had expensive tastes, not necesarily rich herself though.

*shrugs* I just look at being a 'Champagne Girl' as being someone who appreciates the finer things in life. That doesn't necessarily need to be a negative thing.

You don't need to put a label on yourself. You're YOU! :-)

I think the George Strait song "you know me better than that" describes a beer guy trying to be happy with a champagne girl.

Money and status are the first qualities CGs think about before deciding if they can be friends with you or date someone.
