I am hungry!

January 20th, 2010 at 07:51 pm

Nothing has gotten done these past two days, yesterday I had a headache and the 'poor me's (poor tired me with a headache Frown.)

Today I am HUNGRY! The kind of hunger that will not go away. And I mean the painful, man I have to eat, not just oh kinda hungry. I keep eating and eating and it just wont quit! I had a short break while EL napped in my arms, after heating peanut butter, a potato with cheese, some chicken, and chocolate and milk.

But 40 minutes later the hunger is back and painful!

    Are you dehydrated? Pregnant?

Pregnant came to my mind too! Well?

Well yes on pregnant, but I think the dehydration might be the real problem. Thanks for the idea

Aw! ((Hugs)) to you! Congratulations. That is some really nice news there. Baby #5, right? I am hoping that I might finally get #6, but then again DH and I are thinking that adoption might be our option.

    Snack away!

Um, get your blood sugar tested, please. You probably know that sometimes women can have high blood sugar while pregnant---gestational diabetes. If your natural insulin level is high right now trying to "combat" high blood sugar levels, it can make you feel voraciously hungry even just after eating. And having high blood sugar can also lead to dehydration, as the kidneys will begin putting sugar into the urine to get rid of it after it reaches a certain level in the bloodstream.

I recall you don't go to the doctor much. If you do not have a doctor and aren't going to get one, at least borrow a blood glucose meter from a diabetic. Or, you can buy a cheap one plus the strips needed for it at WalMart, a brand called Relion. If it turns out not to be an issue, you could sell it on Ebay.

    Thanks for the congrats!

Joan, I am setting up an appointment with my midwife now. I am pretty sure she can do that sort of testing (will find out).

Thanks for the ideas and concern, I promise I will get it checked, but I do feel better after a lot of water and some 'water filled' snacks (berries and the like)
