OUCH

July 15th, 2005 at 11:58 am

and no it wasn't fun, DH spent a fortune at BJs, mostly nuts and stuff for trail mix, we eat a lot of it, a healthy snack and all that, but man oh man, that plus the membership renewal (we make the renewal back on milk alone) is painful!

Groceries

July 14th, 2005 at 11:25 am

Dh made it in under 30, with everything on the list, and then some, very cool, but the trail mix supplies we are getting tonight from BJs will more than cover the other 45 in the budget Frown. (well that and milk and cheese! I have to ask him to get cheese, this family can't go another week without cheese!)

hot car

July 13th, 2005 at 12:19 pm

k so the car is hotter in the AM when DH leaves for work now that it is in the garage? that can't be good, maybe we should not use the garage till winter, but then why did I clean it out! and is better to not get rained on? it is certainly better for the kittens can't run over a cat hiding if the cat can't hide, but all the kittens are gone and I have high hopes fire isn't getting any new ones till next spring.

we did it, it was in the garage overnight :)

July 12th, 2005 at 11:45 am

Now I just have to convince DH to keep it up, today the kids were up when he left so I was and shut the door for him, but I need to find stuff showing that it is better to have the car there even in the summer to keep it up. It has to be a bit of a pain to open the door and all that all the time, so it needs to be worth it.

garage in use!

July 11th, 2005 at 11:47 am

We can fit the car in the garage!!!!!!!!!

Now all I have to do is convince DH to put it there, I think for Christmas I will mention to his parents that we are looking into a garage door opener, between what they normally spend on him and the cash he gets it should be enough and then he will be more likely to use the garage, I also think I will try to know when he pulls in the driveway and run out and open the garage door for him.

We also went to the pool again, DS and DD are awesome in the pool now, fear is mostly gone from DS and he loves challenging what he can do, which leaves us a little worried, since he isn't strong enough to tread water all that well or long, but I don't want to turn his love of meeting challenges back into panic, so we stay as close as possible and pray nothing bad happens.

Dinner was 'giant chicken nuggets' which is breaded chicken patties, we microwaved them at home wrapped them in foiil and a towel and ate them at the pool, worked out pretty well and is expanding my list of what to eat at the pool.

Kids loot

July 9th, 2005 at 11:59 am

My children are generally richer than I am, and now is no exception, GMA sent down 20 for each when BIL came home from his July 4th visit. They have everything they need, and honestly most of what they want, niether one of them is asking for anything.

So they treated to frenchfrys last night when we went iceskating, adn are prolly going to put the remaining 18 each in their ING accounts.

BJs again

July 8th, 2005 at 10:51 am

Not so under budget there, and we still forgot stuff, DH offered to stop on the way home from work this week, but I told him it is cheaper if we do without, we have stuff to eat in the house, we just have to be mroe inventive when we forget stuff.

cheaper cereal

July 7th, 2005 at 10:54 am

I gave DH cash for groceries yesterday and he made it in under budget YIPEEE! He got some cheap cereal. I hate cheap regular cheereos, and cheap honey nut is too sweet, so he got one of each and I can mix them, so far tastes ok.

expensive news, saving news

July 6th, 2005 at 11:28 am

On the expense side, we turned the air on, DD couldn't sleep thru the firecrackers, and well I am now used to the nice cool but more importantly dryer air, at 80. Might not seem like much but try walking around in a hot humid 80- by lunch house for a month. 80 is nice!

On the saving side, air on means I can dry clothes again, clothes don'tdry in the house when it is so muggy, they take 3 days and smell funny Frown, so now I can dry them. Coure the electric bill will still be going up due to air, but a small amount cancels out.

OOPS

July 5th, 2005 at 11:28 am

pregnant people are dangerous around computers!

coat of stuff

July 4th, 2005 at 11:01 am

On the airplane rocker thingie. One more session of 'paint' and it will be gone Smile so happy about that.

DS yesterday told DH about having the car in the garage, DH asked why he wants the car in the garage, DS said 'cause mommy wants it there' Smile

Wanting shelves is making me cranky :(

July 3rd, 2005 at 10:35 am

So I either have to get them, or forget them, but having them on my mind all the time is a pain in the arse. And boy do I feel like an idiot for having this problem over 40$ worth of shelving!

Garage

July 2nd, 2005 at 11:11 am

So you would think gettting a car in the garage should be easy, especially after so much decluttering!

But nope still not there, thoguh last night DH dumped a coat of stuff on the plane rocker that is for the kids and needs protected to go outside. Then we have another shelf to put up and some rearanging and then finally I think we will get the car in, I hope I so want it done this summer. Ok I wanted it done last fall, and the summer before that, and the fall before that, and you get the picture Smile

BJs and wisdom teeth

June 30th, 2005 at 06:40 pm

Well the two teeth are gone and I have a gaping bleeding hole in my mouth, that cost me 72$ for the nitrous that I didn't breath (silly pegnant women don't like taking drugs, even when everyone says they are safe)

And DH went to BJs bough ice cream making stuff to be nice, which means he went over budget, Frown. But he sure is sweet.

cat saving money?

June 29th, 2005 at 11:52 am

We have found many rodents or remains of rodents in our back yard, so I told DH we may actually be saving money having to feed Fire and her kitten (now down to one Frown, Vanilla got run over Frown.) Hope so, since he wants to go buy more food again.

Car in the garage

June 28th, 2005 at 12:25 pm

well we have finally cleared what looks like enough room, unfortunatly that isn't enough room Frown. But the good news is it should only take a few more things. The bad news we need to take care of another shelf that is awaiting purchase of screws Frown always money, everything I want to do is all about money!

I also managed to clear out more of my closet again which should mean soon I can hang clothes up in there again. Should help with the electric bill, even though we havn't turned the Air on we certainly do have fans running a lot!

I want I want I want

June 26th, 2005 at 12:06 pm

I feel like an idiot but I really really really want some shelves, 4 in my bedroom and 4 in the living room to hopefully store the books that I am not getting rid of, but that would run around 60$ Frown and really shouldn't I want to send 60 if I had it to the CC, not for some shelves?

But I don't I want my shelves, I want my living room to have a clean uncluttered look, and I can't get that while I still have the stuff stacked to the ceiling, and no I can't toss DHs CDs, or the computer stuff, nor can I find another spot for computer paper, and so on. But 4 shelves over the couch would be perfect.

In the bedroom I want to move my ceder chest away from the window, specially since we still havn't turned the air on so the window is open all night, and I don't want my ceder chest ruined by rain, not that it hasn't seen it's fair share or wear and tear, but I would like to reduce the risk. Only the only spot availible for it is where the bookcase is, and I want the bookcase gone, replaced by shelves, that would be so nice and high out of BBY3s reach! (by the time BBY3 is here, I am sure DD could climb that high, if she can't already, but she knows not to touch the shelves in easy reach so I figure a transfer would be easy.)

Birthday shopping

June 25th, 2005 at 11:07 am

This time for SIL, we know what we want to get her, but I would also like to make her something but she doesn't eat cake, or anything sweet, and we have no ingredients for ice cream, not to mention in this heat there is no way it would make it to her house Frown.

hopefully I will be inspired at some point today.

food for the week

June 24th, 2005 at 11:00 am

well grocery was a bit overbudget, but BJs was way UNDER! awesome and the first in a looooong time, all we got was english muffins and milk, and the milk was 1.50 less than at the grocery store way cool IMO Smile.

Retirement

June 22nd, 2005 at 11:47 am

humph I know I should think about it, or well about DHs, SAHMs don't retire, the job just leaves. Anyway I would love to, but I can't, I am still back at getting rid of the CC Frown. Got the bill and while it went down a good bit last month, I was depressed thinking it will not have such a huge drop for a long time Frown.

clothes

June 21st, 2005 at 01:55 pm

well we brought back a huge bin of clothes, soem for DD some for BBY3, I decided I had to straighten out the dresser situation to get BBY3s stuff in one (I know October is far away Smile.)

Anyway I figured out how to get two dressers and the bed and the crib in Ds's room, so proud of myself, course in October we have to trade rooms! DSs current room is too hot in the summer for DD and too cold in the winter for a baby.

Food overload

June 20th, 2005 at 10:36 am

well cooked lunch and discovered my parents don't eat as much as my 3 year old, and their adoptive kid didn't eat a bite (which was likly due to the fact that he was chowing in the car on the way)

and then for dinner the kid kept poking my DS with his chopsticks so DS didn't eat anything. Leaving us with a hungry kid and lots of food. Well lots of food is better than no food Smile and it is all cooked, reheat and eat Smile.

Babys shower

June 19th, 2005 at 11:35 am

well we made it, and no one went terribly hungry.

There was lunch there, and we all ate some, then around dinner time we got the kids to eat some mac and cheese and my wonderful DH went back out to the car for more variety of snacks since he was worried about me. But the trouble was meat, I was craving meat and anything less made me puky, blame it on baby3 Smile

Anyway we stopped on the way home for burgers, which helped since DH needed caffine, and the drinks we packed were no longer cold (I didn't expect them to be, to long) so it got real food in him and I.

I was reminded again how I hated my mothers attitude about food. She sat her kid down for green beans at 1pm, and then he scarfed all our food for the rest of the evening, and no mention of dinner was made by anyone other than DH and I, but plenty of 'honest we do feed these kids' well when. I seem to be the one feeding them! (no way a kid will sit for a 'real' dinner with that kindof disctraction so ofcourse I gave lots of snacks.

Over budget, suprise.

June 17th, 2005 at 11:20 am

Well DS and DH went to BJS and came back with 75$s of stuff. Part of it was due to company, we normally don't buy grahms and goldfish and animal crakers all at once. Nor do we get quite that much cheese normally. But the variety of snacks should last a bit longer than one box, though not as long as them bought individually. (more stuff is always eaten faster than one thing)

DS shot

June 16th, 2005 at 11:05 am

we are off for a bazillion errands and getting DS a shot, we have been practicing not touching when mommy 'pokes' him and reminding him what to say instead of yelling, I hope he remembers, but at the same time I can't blame him for saying 'NO' it does hurt Frown.

The groceries were 50something Frown

Water fun

June 15th, 2005 at 12:18 pm

We let the kids goof off with the hose for a bit last night and DS made mud and got it ALL over, pretty cheap entertainment. Smile

We also had juice pops (homeade orange) for snack and a major wash off of mud, good thing we can still carry the kids inside dripping wet straight to the showers Smile.

Grocery store tonight, going to be a bit higher than usual since I have to get stuff for my mother and her new kid this Sunday.

Opened ING for the kids

June 14th, 2005 at 10:55 am

We finally took the kids cash and opened accounts for them, not that that they had that much money (when it is a significant amount we buy a bond for them) but DS thinks it is pretty cool that his money is going to grow. Slowly of course Smile.

Fans

June 13th, 2005 at 10:38 am

Well DH went to Target bought a tower fan for Dss room and maternity pants for me, he is sooo sweet, and I do like having another pair of pants that fit, bringing the total up to 3, which should be enough for me to stop complaining. Course he got the wrong size and had to go back. he took a second load of stuff to the goodwill but they wont take swings (baby) so we are stuck with it Frown. I think I am going to try freecycle cause I want the huge thing out of the garage, but first I am going to ask my bros girl if she wants it.

by the time Im 40

June 11th, 2005 at 11:21 am

that thread about the Microsoft dude got me thinking, what do I want by the time I am 40?

First I am old! 40 isn't that far away, I am already halfway there! Ok so Im not that old, but halfway to delivery of a baby is cool, halfway to 40 is ugh.

Anyway what I want, not much, to be debt free including the house and car, though I imagine it will be a different car unless we have no more kids. (we have a sedan, seats 3 kids, pregnant with my third kid Smile.)

Pretty modest goal, but I am not sure we will make it Frown. We have the CC to pay off, then this car to turn around, then the house. Which at our current rate will be paid off in almost 30 years (30 year loan minus 3 years) Which is a loooooong time, even if we pay off the cc and start adding 100 to the house it still wont reduce the time by that much Frown.

well we left the house

June 10th, 2005 at 11:42 am

So much for staying home Smile. We went to Discovery place, a bit more than we needed to spend, but if I am going to splurge I want to do it on fun/educational stuff. Ran about 30$ for admission and parking (sigh in pgh parking is free and the center is bigger) But the kids had a lot of fun and so did we.

Then DH decided to splurge on food, we usually get a 'reward' for finishing the peanut butter sandwhiches, but this time DH got a whole hamburger meal, and two chicken nugget meals, on the up side it was a LOT of food, we didn't manage to finish the fries, and we have some sandwhiches to use tonight when we go to the skating rink. (I know more of a splurge, but fun and kindof educational)
